Abstract

Fortunately, the compartmentalized vision of the three branches of international protection of the human person - human rights, refugee law, and humanitarian law - is being overcome. On this basis, this work refers to recent developments regarding the interrelationships between these three major aspects, examining the contributions and the new strategy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the preventive dimension, some recent developments and the II World Conference on Human Rights. Given that this convergence or approximation is not limited to the conceptual or normative level but also extends to the operational level, the practice of international human rights supervisory organizations is analyzed at a regional and global level.
